Introducing Farmer Fi & Glenn
Freshfield Grove is owned by Fiona and Glenn Makowski, who bought the farm including the 1000 tree olive grove in 2014. Glenn lived away from Tasmania for many years and was keen to return, while Fiona fell in love with the island state on her first visit to Australia from the UK, and dreamed of calling it home.
The search for their perfect rural Tasmanian property took a while, but they are now gradually working towards a more self-sufficient lifestyle while building their boutique olive business.
We press our own oil on site, so
the products are 100% grown, made,
and packaged on the farm.
Based in the heart of the Coal River Valley, we’re only 20 minutes from the Hobart airport, and 30 minutes from Hobart’s CBD.
We love our little spot of paradise, which includes wineries, boutique cheese and chocolate makers, walnut farms, fruit orchards, breweries, distilleries, and arts and crafts. There’s also plenty of historic buildings, too, all within a 20 minute drive so why not make a day of it.
It’s important to us to support other Tasmanian and Australian businesses and industries, and run our business in an environmentally conscious way as much as we can.
Our oil bottles are made in Australia, sealed with a recyclable cap, and packaged with high quality reusable pourers. We selected the tea pouches to be lightweight and easy to post. I like to reused them as small plant pots!
With our passion to support local business we had our branding and design done by Creative Hum in Hobart, and our labels also were printed locally here in Tasmania.Farmer Fi
